More About Me…

I was born and raised in San Diego, CA.

I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from the CA School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, CA.

I am licensed in both Virginia and North Carolina

I have a PsyPact certification for Telehealth sessions in most states.

I completed Pre-and Post-Doctoral Internships at Strong Memorial Hospital/University of Rochester, NY.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Deaf Studies from CA State University, Northridge.

I am fluent in American Sign Language.

I am hard of hearing and use hearing aids. With hearing aids, I can hear very well.

I draw from over two decades of experience in a variety of clinical settings, including: inpatient psychiatric hospital units, community-based inpatient and outpatient clinics for the treatment of addictions (specifically alcoholism and eating disorders), severe mental illness, and personality disorders, school counseling centers and in mobile crisis and emergency services for hearing, hard of hearing, and deaf individuals, and in private practice.

I provide psychotherapy from ages 16-99. Individuals and couples.

Utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, energy psychology, and mindfulness practices including meditation, I offer people help with:

  • Self-harming Behaviors

  • Difficulties in relationships

I maintain a personal daily meditation practice.

It has been my experience that therapy is most effective when a balance is struck between acceptance and change. You come to see me because something in your life is not working, and you want to change it. You also need a therapist who understands how hard it is for you to make those changes, and the obstacles that stand in your way. You need a therapist who accepts you right where you are, while offering you the tools to make the changes you want. I strive to maintain that balance
